Fix It Mechanical Car Repair and Service is a mobile workshop based at the first junction after the Mosque in Jabang. We bring the tools, the diagnostics and the hands to your compound, your office car park or the roadside where you have stopped — so a dead battery, a grinding brake or an engine that will not turn over does not have to become a tow truck, a lost day and a story you tell for years.
Most jobs in and around Banjul, Kanifing, Serrekunda, Brikama and the Kombo coast are handled on site, the same day you call. If a repair genuinely needs a bench, a lift or parts we do not carry, we tell you straight before we start — no surprise invoices, no parts swapped without your word.

Nine jobs we do every week
Everything below is done at your location unless it truly needs a workshop bench. Tell us the car, the year and what it is doing — we will tell you what it usually means and what it usually costs before we set off.
Computer diagnostics
Fault codes read and cleared, live sensor data checked, warning lights traced to the actual cause instead of the nearest guess. Printout or photo of the codes on request.
Brakes & suspension
Pads, discs, drums, brake fluid, handbrake adjustment, shock absorbers, bushings and ball joints. If it squeals, pulls, shudders or bottoms out on the laterite, this is the job.
Air conditioning & cooling
Regas, leak testing, compressor and condenser work, radiator flush, thermostat and water pump replacement. In Banjul heat this is the repair people call about most.
Batteries, starting & charging
Jump starts, battery testing and replacement, alternators, starter motors and earth faults. We test the charging system, not just the battery, so the new one does not die next month.
Oil, filters & full service
Engine oil and filter, air and fuel filters, spark plugs, belts, coolant, brake and gear oil top-ups. A proper service at your gate, with the old filters kept for you to see.
Tyres, wheels & alignment
Puncture repair, tyre fitting and balancing, wheel bearing and CV joint work, tracking checks after a bad pothole or a kerb you would rather forget.
Pre-purchase inspection
Buying a used car in the Kombo? We go with you or meet the seller, check the engine, chassis, bodywork, electrics and paperwork signs, and give you an honest verdict in writing.
Roadside rescue & recovery
Won't start, won't move, overheating on the highway, keys locked in, fuel run dry. Call and describe where you are — a landmark, a junction, a shop name is enough.

Head gasket, Toyota Corolla
Overheated on the Serrekunda road with steam from the bonnet. Head skimmed, gasket replaced, cooling system flushed. Back on the road in three days.
Full service, Nissan pickup
A work truck that had not been serviced in two years. Oil, all filters, plugs, belts and brake fluid, done in the owner's compound in Kanifing.
Two punctures, one afternoon
Same client, two tyres, two different roads. Patched and refitted on site at the Westfield junction, spare checked before we left.
Warning light, no fault
Engine light on for a month, two other garages had guessed. Live data showed a failing oxygen sensor. Replaced, light cleared, fuel use dropped.
Air conditioning, hot taxi
A town taxi losing passengers to the heat. Leak found at the condenser joint, sealed, system regassed and pressure-tested twice before handover.
Pre-purchase check, used saloon
Buyer asked us to look before paying. We found a repaired chassis leg and a leaking gearbox seal. He walked away — and called us for the next car.

Tell us the make, the model, the year and what the car is doing — noise, smell, warning light, where it stopped. A photo of the dashboard or the engine bay on WhatsApp saves a lot of time.
Step 02
We quote before we move
You get a straight answer on what it usually is, what the visit costs and whether it can be done where the car sits. Nothing starts until you say go ahead.
Step 03
We come and we fix it
Tools, diagnostics and the common parts come with us. If we find something else while we are in there, we stop and call you before touching it. Old parts are left with you.
